Welcome to Frozen Royalty!
November 4th, 2009 | by luton |Hello L.A. Kings fans,
Welcome to frozenroyalty.com, a site dedicated to the Los Angelas Kings, the first team to come out of California.
Lets get started.
The Kings are already 15 games into the season and they are 4th in there confrence, 1 point behind San Jose for 2nd in the confrence and 3 points out of first in the confrence. The Kings are playing some great hockey so far, and leading the way is Anze Kopitar. Kopitar is playing some phenominal hockey right now and leads the NHL with 24 points, and is 2nd in goals with 11. Kopitar was givin the reigns this year to be the go to guy and he has taken the opportunity and ran with it, or glided with it… His new linemates most noteably Ryan Smyth has really helped Kopitars game, and it has Smyth playing the best hockey he has played in a few years. Smyth has looked rejuvinated and ready to make a return to the post season. His veteran leadership and great work ethic seems to have inspired the young players on the Kings roster, especially Kopitar. Kopitar and Smyth aren’t the only players playing good puck right now, Drew Doughty is showing that he is the real deal, he is leading the way on defence. Doughty is 3rd in the league in defensive scoring, 3 of his 13 points have been goals, 1 of them a powerplay goal and 2 of them were game winning goals. Doughty has been strong in his own zone and is playing with the poise of a veteran. Doughty’s efforts have made the Canadian Olympic Hockey committee notice him and he will be considered to make the olympic roster.
Doughty isn’t the only King looking to make an Olympic Roster. Fellow country man Ryan Smyth is making a strong case to make the Canadian team, while Alex Frolov is almost a lock to make the Russian team, and Michal Handzus is hoping to make the Czech team. Finally Jack Johnson is in consideration to make the U.S. team, while Dustin Brown is a lock to make the U.S. team. These will be some of the hot topics in the next little while, as the Olympics are 100 days away.
Over the next little while, I will be posting about how the Kings are doing, who is hot who is not, who are the up and coming L.A. prospects, and Olympic hopefulls.
I look forward to posting my blog over the next year and can’t waite to here from you the readers. Thank you and good night.
