Lutons Prospect #10 Linden Vey
December 21st, 2009 | by luton |Linden Vey, Right Wing
Linden Vey is 18 years old and his second full season with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL. He is 5′11, 176lbs, he was born on July 17th 1991 in Wakaw Saskatchewan, Canada. Linden plays a big mans game for a guy of average height. He plays a very aggressive and gritty style. He plugs hard in the corners and goes hard to the net. Linden will fight if he needs to but generally he stays away from it.
Now in his second full season with the Tigers he is becoming a leader who uses his words and his actions to help guide and inspire others around him. He poses the ability to make others want to be better, and he is very vocal on the bench. Linden funnily enough, reminds me of another Linden, Trevor Linden who was from Medicine Hat and played for the Tigers, from 1985 to 1988. Trevor Linden went on to be a great NHLer and Captain for many years.
Linden Vey could become a solid NHL star if he can stay focused hone his skills and continue to be a leader, it will take a few years before Linden will make the Kings but there is potential here for a new captain of the Kings. He possesses a good work ethic and a strong sense of pride. Linden Vey is not on any top 10 Kings prospect lists that I have seen but he is my sleeper pick to make it in the NHL, and in my opinion he deserves a good look for those who keep track of the Kings future.
Linden Vey was drafted in the 4th round 96th overall by the Kings in the 09 raft and so far this season he has
12 goals, 23 assists 35 points 14 mins in penalties 4 ppg and 1 shorty in 38 games.
Last year 24 goals, 48 assists in 72 games and had 2 goals and 5 assists in 11 playoff games.
Up next at #9 Brandon Kozun.
